Schoolstraat is an 8x8" acrylic painting on canvas which was begun in 2006 in Arnhem, NL and completed in 2023 in Chicago. Thorn spent six weeks as an artist resident in a former junior highschool building in Arnhem that had been attended by M.C. Escher, who conceived his famous stairway image from the interior.
